That's odd - I am on the beta channel, and I have 103.1264.45. Yet it did not update to 103.1264.49. I guess they didn't pass it to the beta channel?

This happened to me as well when Edge hit the 100+ builds.
Go into Settings (top right where those three dots are);
Then click on System and performance, and switch Off Startup Boost.
Close the browser and then open Task Manager and you will notice that Edge is no longer running.
Or else it will continue to run as a background process.

Thanks Brink, There is a setting in Edges options to allow it to use other features or some such thing. I removed that and now it is OK. I turned it off as in the image below.

Checked and Startup Boost is automatically turned OFF
This is apparently because I use LastPass and it cannot run when using LastPass.
