At this time, Malwarebytes 5 is also available directly from our download site. (Online installer)

Currently we are doing a slow rollout of Malwarebytes 5 via automatic updates as we are working on improving support for some non-standard licensing use cases before rolling out to a wider audience.
Please note that if the Malwarebytes Privacy VPN app is currently installed, the Malwarebytes 5 installer will only install Malwarebytes 4.
If you are using both Malwarebytes 4 and Malwarebytes Privacy VPN, and your products are activated with two different subscriptions or license keys, we recommend that you do not install Malwarebytes 5 at this time.

This morning, checking for updates for v4.6.13.324 landed 5.1.4.112 on my office machines without any warning. I stored a copy of the 4.6.13 installer, thinking that I'd replace version 5 with the older version 4 if this happened, but now that this ugly but admittedly faster and better version has imposed itself on me, I guess I'll stick with it. The problem is that I dare not run MBAM without auto-updates ON, and I religiously check for updates every morning, first thing after boot up, to get the latest definitions file. If I went back, I'm sure that some time soon, v. 5 would appear in place of v. 4 again, making resistance futile.

I guess I'll just learn to live with it for now, but if they don't fix the awful dashboard in the near future, I'll just let my licenses run out and uninstall MBAM.

Hello @Wisewiz

No doubt you have read many of the similar posts on the Malwarebytes forum. With each new major release, some members will bitterly complain about the new GUI. But just as in the past, the users will soon adapt and understand the new application itself has been improved far beyond that of any previous MBAM version.

In my own defence, I DID say “faster and better.” And yes, I have actively participated on the forums, to offer what I’ve hoped to be constructive criticism. Some excellent changes have been made since the first release of 5. I just hope that continues. Thanks for your input.
