Many laptops have a keyboard key that turns the touchpad on/off. I looked at the user manual for yours and didn't see one. It's usually one of the function keys (F key) and is sometimes marked with a rectangle with a line thru it. It could have a loose connection and there always the possibility the touchpad went bad. Not real likely, but could even be a motherboard problem. Usually, there's also a setting in bios under configutation that affects the touchpad.
Make sure the touchpad hasn't gotten disabled in settings.
