Let Windows take care of Windows

I do like tweaking with programs specifically designed to tweak such as Stardock's software. Those little aesthetic changes are wonderful. But I don't go in and start messing with CPU, RAM, or Windows settings. So, I'm not really tweaking, I guess. I'm with @humbird in that I simply roll back an update if it causes problems.

I tweak my system with Shawn's tutorials, 3rd-party programs, and my own-made programs.
I do now restore point if anything goes wrong, but I have my USB drive ready for clean installing 10/11 if the tweaks cause unbootable state.

Someone mentioned dancing. I dance with Windows in sync. Don't wanna step on the poor things toes. They get upset very easily.

LOL, I have at any time at least 5 Windows computers in my stable, for which I allow/disallow tweaks in various degrees depending on what they are used for.

The least tweaks are allowed for the main work computer, and yes, that is a computer for serious matters (like taxes, etc.)

The most tweaks are allowed for the test computer, and yes, I don't always agree with MS' defaults, so I test out tweaks before deciding what to do.

A workflow for making tweaks can look like this for me. A couple of days ago, I posted about a double entry issue that requires the deletion of a couple of regedit keys. No problem at all for the test computer which is a clean install to have a 100% default (and empty) computer, do the deletions manually, do a clean reinstall, do the deletions with a script. I can feel it in my bones, that the deletions are safe either way. Then do the deletions beginning with the least important computer to the main work computer as the last one. (One of the computers did not have the double entry issue to begin with)

What I am cautioning against is what I already said in previous posts in various ways. Some people tuning up their race cars enticing others to tune up their family cars and receiving responses on how to do the tune up even 'better' thereby leading those others even further astray
