Links don't open when I already have a Chrome window open

Hi guys.

I just noticed that I can't get links to open from programs like Excel or WhatsApp when I have a Chrome window already open.

It works fine when no window is open.

I've tried resetting Chrome settings first, then reinstalling it, but that doesn't help.

I've tried reviewing the default apps, but everything is fine.

Does anyone know what could be going on?

You might want to use something like System Informer to monitor to see if it actually tries to open a chrome.exe process or not... If it does, does the process just get killed? It seems like you have some type of limit of one instance of chrome.exe or something.

Looks like I've fixed it.

I used the basic principle of computing: reboot, or in this case, uninstall and reinstall.

I didn't think about it before, maybe trying to save something that was obviously broken led me to not see that way out, encouraged by not wanting to reconfigure everything.
