The 2nd drive is SATA SSD. The drive's speed is limited by the SATA interface which is a little slower then USB 3.0. You won't find a 2.5" SATA enclosure with USB 3.1 because SATA is too slow to take advantage of it. You need an external NVME SSD to take advantage of USB 3.1.
That's good to know. Would that would also be the case if it was USB-C cables, which is the way many laptop connector ports are heading towards?
500GB Samsung 870 EVO (2.5" SATA) SSD speed test. It is mounted in a SABRENT 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool Free External Hard Drive Enclosure. This is the same enclosure that someone mentioned in a previous post.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards that Sabrent, too. The one @glasskuter mentioned. There seems to be plenty of choices for that (2.5 SATA) one.
But I'm still confused about getting an mSATA enclosure for the 850 EVO, the 1st drive I mentioned. It looks like it uses a B-Key.
Since the 850 EVO is also 1TB, it might be worth it to me to re-use that one as well. Any suggestions on how to go about doing that one?
