Solved Lost Directory Icons in MS EDGE favorites.

After installing the latest MSWin11 and MSEdge I lost my folder icons when I open my Favorites.
I have Microsoft Edge Version 131.0.2903.112 (Official build) (64-bit)
I have Win11 Pro 24H2 build 26100.2605

Seems only happens in MS Edge and not in Win11.
The rest of my favorite icons in Favorites are normal so it's only the icon when I make a directory for a group of favorites.
Anyone else see this or any suggestions?

I had lost some when importing Favorites but simply reloading a Website brought them back in Firefox so I deleted the old Bookmark and saved the new one.

It's not the weblink that is missing. Those are good.
It is when I made a directory within my favorites for a group of website I lose the colored icon for the Directory.
It shows only a outline icon instead of a yellow-colored icon like the rest of win11.

create a new profile in edge and add a dir to test if its an installation issue or a profile issue

I did create a new Profile and the same result.
No colored Directory Icon in MSEdge

All is good within Win11 in hd directories and shows proper colored icons for all directories and sub-directories.

I think it is within MS Edge.

yes, those two icon sets are unrelated. was just curious if it was an edge profile issue.
install the Canary build and see if the icons are yellow. i havent used edge in a long time, so im not sure what the newer builds may have altered. let me know.

edit:
just checked a spare pc. 131.0.2903.070 had yellow folders. updated to 131.0.2903.112 and they are just outlines of folders now. its a change by Microsoft. no issues with your browser installation.

if you want the yellow folders back, you'll have to downgrade build of edge. please mark as solved. thanks

Mine has been like that for ages on Edge Beta, but fine on Stable.

I have the same issue with Edge, both on Windows and Linux.
