Lots of Critical Error popups, but don't know what's generating them

Win 11 Pro x64 24H2, 26100.6584, desktop. I get a lot of Critical Error popups, but because they are in the background I tend not to notice until I've closed a foreground program or see their icon on the Taskbar. Since the popups only have my email address, I have no idea what's generating them, sometimes several. My impression is they come more with opening PDFs, but I don't know for sure. I've had several in the past 20 minutes or so since returning to the computer, but looking in Event Viewer there are no Errors in the past hour and 9 warnings. Is there somewhere else to look? Thanks,

Post a screenshot of the error pop up (edit out your email address).

Just had a few Critical Error popups while directly opening an assortment of pdf files with PDF XChange Viewer, a now outdated program (which I've preferred over its replacement, which doesn't bring error popups). Sometimes the files open fine, while with others double clicking is as if I had hit F2 to edit the file name and up comes the critical error box (I have single click set, but it doesn't seem to work consistently). But as you can see from the Reliability History, these occurrences are not being recorded as problems. The popups have happened with current programs as well, as far as I recall. Will watch further. This is a three week old clean install of Win 11 (with glasskuter's help). Otherwise, been working well. Never saw this in Win 10.

- Reliability History: one problem report 5 days ago - another program stopped working - and the rest two weeks back and earlier

The logo in the pop up is from PDFsam(Split and Merge) Enhanced, is that the PDF app you're using.

No. As I wrote above, PDF XChange Viewer. But knowing that it’s coming from PDFSam will help me figure it out, thanks. Sam is occasionally useful as a backup.

Unintstalled all PDFSam and rebooted. Solved the problem. Also filed a report with PDFSam. Bizarre behavior. While I've experienced conflicts before, never where one program not in use threw up an error message when a competitor is used. Saying that makes me wonder if PDFSam services was running with startup. Well, I'll wait to see what they have to say.
