windows 11 Pro
I can not get macrium 7.3 to run every time I try to use it windows 11 locks up No task Mngr have to re-set I can read my backup drives via explorer and i have reinstall macrium several times I just won`t run. I hope when I phone them they do not expect me to upgrade my 7 licenses to ver 8 i will check ver 8 Free now.

Have you tried just reinstalling v7 on top of itself?

Also, are you running the Windows Insider's Dev release (22000.51) or are you running hte Leaked build (21996.1) or the incomplete update (22000.1)?

I am using the latest win 11 release o/s 22000.51 win 10 to win 11 via update.
But macrium ver 8 trial does not work either.
As for op sys change, it`s not an excuse. should be backwards compatible.
Anyway looks like something different on my machine as both versions are not working.

yeah, agreed, it is something on your system, sorry to say.

We have multiple reports of v7 working, and mine has v8 working - in fact, just ran it, and it received an update now, too.

BTW - did you update Windows 10 to Win11 via Windows Update, download the .ISO from somewhere and upgrade Win10, or cleanly install it?

I've seen most problems with stuff not working (like drivers and such) on cleanly installed systems...

Mine is Win10 upgraded via WU to 11....which also already had Macrium v8 installed before the upgrade.

It might very well be the fact that you cannot install the newer VisualC redistributable runtimes. I think that would be a good place to start.

AMD DRIVERS ROLLED BACK AGAIN . MACRIUM WAS WORKING UNTIL ROLL BACK OF AMD DRIVERS.
Now back to the original problems.
1. Any version of macrium hangs when I try to load.
2. AMD drivers will not update.
3. C++ runtime for 2015 64b will not install.
I am going to install all the MSI motherboard drivers from the CD(worth a try I think).

What other C++ Runtimes do you already have installed?
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can install an older Runtime, if you have a newer one installed.

Even on Win 10, I had to install those... in order. Like... if you have 2017 installed... you need to uninstall it, then install 2015, then install 2017.

I have used Macrium for 10 years and confirm version 7 works on Surface Go Windows 11 Home - try reinstalling perhaps.

I have uninstalled all C++ runtime library`s and visual studio, I am going to reboot then reinstall all the library's using the latest install package again.
This problem is really bugging me.
I can not do a backup.
I can not reinstall windows using the USB iso (error message Can not read license Key)
Back soon.

O\k I gave in and re-set the Pc using Cloud.
Every app is now reinstalled and working all the C++ runtime Libray`s installed no problem.
AMD drivers now up to date
Steam library all games working.
Macrium 7 Works.
Malwarebytes does not crash while deep scanning.
But painter 2021 would only work after I installed visual studio with the C++ package, Don`t Know why.
I would have liked to have delved deeper for more definitive answers, But I was chasing one problem after another.

Yes Windows 11 is really not even beta release standard at this stage, but is close enough in relation to Windows 10 format to suggest that most previously ok software will work out of the box or reinstalled .
I had 10 Legacy DirectPlay related games that all had to be reinstalled, after minimising to the taskbar, instead of playing.
