[W11 Ver. 22463.1000] I noticed my desktop had no incoming e-mail since Sept.11. Seems the Mail app is not working, even after uninstall/re-install and endless settings attempts. Strangely, all settings are identical to my laptop (W10) which does work, so it seems W11 should work. Is is possible W11 is stuck on my old password which has since been changed?

Help. Please.

Is this only for the one account that you use to log into windows? (Assuming you use a Microsoft account login for Windows) Also, do you use Hello to log in to your account?

If you're using Windows Hello, try turning that off, and that should force you to log in to Windows with your password. After you do that, check to see if Mail is working again, and if not, try removing and re-adding that account one last time. Remember, all of this with Windows Hello turned off.

if it works again, you can then re-enable Hello.

If you're not using Hello / don't have your Windows login tied to your Microsoft account (meaning you log in with a local account) you can possibly try removing the account from Settings --> Accounts and then try adding it again there, and see if Mail picks it up or not.

Had you also tried Resetting the App from within Apps & Features?

Yes, I repaired, then reset, then uninstalled/re-installed: no dice. But thanks for your thoughts.

Next step would be to create a new user and maybe a different Microsoft account (for testing), or even the same account, again, and see if it works in the new account.

I assume that you've actually gone to outlook.com and verified there is supposed to be new mail for you to see there?

Yes, thank you. I receive e-mails normally on my laptop (W10) and my Iphone, so I do not see any error associated with the ISP (Comcast). Perhaps the release of W11 on 10/5 will allow me a fresh start.

This topic was originally created using the Windows 11 beta releases, before the final release in October.

Today, unless you're using an Insiders Preview build, the Windows 11 is stable. But the troubleshooting as listed above still holds.

First and foremost - can you confirm that you have mail waiting to be seen in outlook.com / whatever other service you've connected to Windows Mail?
