Solved MailWasher Free Fatal Error

A day or two ago, MailWasher Free (MW) starting acting oddly, and I finally noticed a new tab at the top of the program, one for errors. I tried completely removing and reinstalling it, to no avail. I did a search here for MW errors, found one which was for the paid version and was fixed by the publisher.

I can read and or write a number of unrelated languages, but not what is this MW error code:

I have not found a single instance of this being reported on line, so no help so far. If anyone can assist, that would be, obviously, greatly appreciated.

Such an error can point in a multitude of directions.
A third party app could be causing it. You can prove that to not be the case by performing a clean boot.
Corruption in windows could be causing it. Prove that to not be the case with system file checker (SFC)
The update that put you to 3810 could be be cause. Maybe the app is not compatible with that update. Uninstall the update.
Quite possibly a simple uninstall of MailWasher was not enough. Uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller Free, making sure to Scan for and remove every leftover item Revo finds. Then reinstall.

Are you using IMAP to check your email or POP? Is it possible MW is setup incorrectly? Or has centurylink changed something with their mail server?

Your email address is exposed to web crawlers and possible future spam as it isn’t coded (not sure that would even make a difference), or maybe you didn’t realise you had posted it?

I don't know that I need to say thank you, but thank you anyway.

For now with no time for a clean boot, I thought that I had stated that I had totally removed MW, not a simple uninstall; at any rate, that is what I did, with no improvement. I don't know of any app having been installed just before the MW problem started, which does not mean that that did not take place.

Both SFC and DISM have been run; both reported no problems. I am rather sure that the update to 3810 was at least a few days before the MW problem, but I shall remove it to see if that helps.

IMAP. MW was running correctly before the problem started, and I had not changed anything.

Not sure about CLink, but with MW turned off, Thunderbird is working ok, which had not been the case before the MW problem started, but I only saw the CLink problems after the emails had been sent to Thunderbird.

No, I had not realized it until you pointed it out and I had to find it in the error code. Given that my email address is known by all to many legitimate and illegitimate people and organizations, I don't know that it is published here is of any particular concern.

I changed it to "My email address" in the Firefox Thunderbird forum, but had no luck here. I have no idea if you can edit your own posts in this forum.

I wonder how many email addresses I have had since going on line in October 1983, but I am probably better off not knowing.

There is a website that can tell you if any site you may of registered at (per email address) has been compromised.

I don't claim to be familiar with Mail Washer, but I looked at its site. It shows an update in June 2024. Version 7.15.5
I also looked on their community board which has little activity. Maybe, possibility, your Mail Washer updated and something is wrong with the new version. See if you can find and run an older version.
If you have a backup of your system from before the problem started, you can try restoring that, too.

Deleted the 3810 update; now at (OS Build 23631.3737)

1.) After the restart, AShampoo Uninstaller popup that the MailWasher had finished, an install I believe I had done yesterday. Message said more, but too fast for me to read and remember it. MW still not working.

2. I then noticed that the restart had not loaded many programs, so I restarted it; MW still not working.

3. Once more, I did a total removal and reinstall; no luck.

4. During that reinstall, I again received a popup; I hope that I can post the captured text here: When I copied it into Word Perfect so that I could grab the second popup. the text of the first disappeared. I had not seen this material previous to whatever it was that is keeping MW from installing and working now.

Just in case you have not realized that I have not the slightest idea what this is all about, I have not the slightest idea what this is about.

It is about as puzzling as why the walls of a building made of cinder blocks caught fire, the reason not found until I found the state's testing lab and took them a sample of the blocks. The report was that they were of high-carbon content, percentage not remembered, and that they had figured out that the blocks were really made of cinders, cinders from the coke ovens that were used to convert the coal to high-carbon for the blast furnaces. Certainly one of the oddest fires I had ever encountered as fire chief; the volunteer firefighters were quite amazed when I was finally able to tell them why the walls had caught fire.

Problem eliminated: MailWasher was removed, and MailWasher Pro, Trial Version has been installed and is working.
