Managing cookies on Microsoft Edge

What are best settings in MS Edge for controlling browser cookies. I have been watching my cookies closely by looking at the "See all cookies and site data" in Edge Settings Menu over the past two days after having cleared the lot. I see I already have quite a few new ones from sites I have not visited. I know some can simply be from adverts appearing on a chat forum etc but I even have a tiktok cookie. I never even use that so why would I have a tiktok cookie tracking me? Uncle Joe wants to ban tik-tok. So do I! I have "Allow sites to read and save cookies" set to on and Block 3rd party cookies set to off (default settings). Should I try blocking 3rd party cookies or will it also break stuff on web pages?

I used to obsess and wonder over stuff like this and have concluded that you should for the most part just let Edge (or any other browser) do its thing. They won't keep building up as such, the cache size will self limit and get updated as older ones get deleted.

If it really bothers you then you have options to delete these (and other stuff depending what options you select) automatically each time Edge closes.

I can delete everything but passwords and Edge reports it will clear around 350Mb of data but after 48 hours it has built back up again.

Don't worry over it is my advice and only delete and clean the browser cache if you have a genuine or suspected site access issue. It happens, its rare, and a full clean fixes it.
