I just got my new Geekom XT series mini pc and am working to my files installed on this new pc as well as install my software. Only doing a small amount at a time and I installed the Acronis True Image 2016 that I was using on my windows 10pc. But I then noticed a little icon in the lower right side and when I clicked to find out what it was about I got a screen telling me that there was an issue in I think it was device security > memory integrity. I tried to slide it to the on position but got a message about incompatible drivers and tib.sys and under that acronis and it could not be turned on. I have been looking to find a resolution for this, but so far have not been able to find anything. I uninstalled the Acronis software in the meantime since I was not sure if I should leave the memory integrity off. I was searching on Acronis for information but so far, have not found anything very helpful, just lots of posts going back as far as I think it was 2021 and since it is an older version of Acronis, I don't think that there will be a way to resolve it, but maybe somebody here knows more than what I have been able to find out so far.
I did find something stating that "
Unfortunately there will be no fix for any older version of True Image as all are unsupported with the exception of the current ATI 2025 version. The 'fix' for the latest versions is simply to not install the Try & Decide feature.
For users of older versions of Acronis, this forum topic: has information on how to circumvent the issue by renaming tib.sys to such as tib.~sys or by removing the associated registry entry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tib
Note: you may need to do a Safe mode start of Windows to action the above options."
Another post states "
Folks, there is a fairly simple way of resolving this issue provided that Acronis Try 'N Decide is not being used, which is to rename the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\tib.sys file then do a Windows restart, i.e. I renamed the file to tib.~sys and was able to turn on Core Isolation.
Note: I also had to follow the steps shown in webpage: - because the scan showed that there was another incompatible driver installed with Windows 10 that needed to be removed.
Once the above actions were done, Core Isolation was activated by a further restart."
I am not sure if I should be messing with the registry or system files so I am checking here first. I had also used Macrium Reflect Free version in the past, but that is only available as a download now with a free 30 day trial.
Is there maybe another good and easy to use backup software that I could use?
