I can hear myself echo through my laptop when I speak to others around me, how do I fix this?

Open Sound settings and make sure hearing the mic is disabled. To do that, right-click on the speaker at the taskbar and select Sounds. Change to Recording tab. Click your microphone and then click Properties. Go to the Listen tab and uncheck the Listen to this device box.
