Microsoft Copilot OS revealed in LEAKED video

A leaked video has revealed that Microsoft has explored building a dedicated AI OS powered by Microsoft Edge and a new lightweight Windows codebase called Win3. This exploration was codenamed Aion, and was built around web tech, placing Copilot at the heart of the experience.

The 3 minute video, which my sources say is real, was first leaked on Discord server BetaWiki and provides a handy walkthrough of what looks to be real (but early) working code, showcasing a new desktop UI that features a similar Taskbar along the bottom, Start menu-like interface powered by Copilot, and more.

It will not support Win32 code. Yes, it will be more like an entertainment OS, but with limited support of modern video games. Microsoft too quickly forgot the fiasco with Windows RT.

What outsiders don't realize is a lot of companies will have experimental research projects to explore new ideas. A number of them will never ship as a real product. But sometimes MS will borrow ideas from a project and add them to production Windows.

Windows 10X is one example.

Personally, I wouldn't read too much into that video because as already stated above it isn't unusual for big tech companies to have research projects ongoing.

As with anything that doesn't support legacy features, such as Win32 apps and games, I will stay miles away! No thanks! That's for experimenting in a virtual machine, not for a general purpose PC. Not for me!
