Microsoft EDGE - Can both Canary and Stable auto-update in the background?

On my system, only Microsoft EDGE Canary channel updates automatically in the background. Is there anyway to have Microsoft EDGE Stable also automatically update in the background? Thanks!

I figured out why they only enable one but not the other when I opened Stable which started with the About version page while Canary was still updating, Stable would show an error in the updates progress as it seems like only one can do an update at a time even though they are technically two different channels.
