It's actually an odd choice for its name as the tool does much more than that.

Pretty sure the one thing we can rely on is Microsoft's list of supported processors and the rest will not be supported, even if they do work, which clearly currently most do but depending on what future features and further "improvements" (Annoyances) Microsoft adds into the mix, that may be short lived. I can't see anything in Microsoft's stance changing now, it's too close the the 5th of October.

If you don't like 11, don't use it. Win 10 will be around for some time to come.

Where did I say I didn't like Win11? I am happily using two PCs on Win11 that are fully compliant.

Where did I say I didn't like Win11? I am happily using two PCs on Win11 that are fully compliant.
Sure sounded like it to me by your comments.

If you don't like 11, don't use it. Win 10 will be around for some time to come.
While that may be a viable option now, MS's decision making will eventually affect all users.

True but not right now. I hope MS will let people opt out.

Never seen so many get their hinney's in an uproar over something that is free & you people are not sure of anything guaranteed yet ! People are complaining about everything & even small stuff. There is usually a work around so sit back and let's see what is coming !!

The comments were aimed at those expecting some sort of miracle re unsupported CPUs come go live, which is not likely to happen, anything unsupported now that works, assuming it can still be used, is likely to have problems further down the development cycle of Win11. I hope I'm wrong but call it pointing out that some are going to probably be disappointed when it's quite likely the alleged MS quotes are proved to be fake.
Annoyances, I class as stuff I'm never likely to use such as Cortana, Edge, My Phone and so on that are not easily removed with one click of Uninstall and are entwined in the OS.

From my experiences Unsupported processors run slow with 11, my compliant one flies. They make the list for a reason

If some worthwhile function is available in Windows 10, Windows 11 shouldn't make a work-around necessary to continue using it. New Windows versions are supposed to make things easier and more convenient for the user, not the reverse.
