If this seller is selling volume license keys, at some point MS will catch on and will shut them down. I'd be concerned about having my MS account tied to it. But hey, don't mind me. I'm a world class pessimist and conspiracy theorist.

I have had Office Pro Plus stand alone before I started a subscription to Microsoft 365. So, I'm pretty sure it's not volume licensing.

Yeah, but I don't think that MS really puts much effort into stopping those licenses. If they did, you wouldn't see so many sales out there just like this one.

If you need Office and you can afford to lose $49 if it doesn't work, I'd say it's worth a shot. If you needed it on more than 1 computer, maybe it's worth considering if Office 365 at $69 fits better as you not only get office on everything, but you also get 1TB of OneDrive space. I use mine for dumping all of my cell phone pics and vidoes to. So, never have to be concerned with losing any pictures again.

I think Office 2021 Standalone is merely a testbed version..., No upgrades..., probably be obsolete, or worse, dysfunctional within the year!

Get a lifetime of necessary Microsoft Office apps on your Mac and Windows for $50

While I don't need Office 2021 right now (still work with one of previous supported versions), such discount is not the last, they will definitely happen in the future. If your situation is the same and current version satisfies your needs, no reason to hurry.

For all the discussions on really cheap licences, most of which are dodgy, they all come down to "I bought this bit of kit off this guy in a pub and it is dirt cheap" LOL.

Why should businesses divulge their chains of supply.

The only things Customer has right to are - goods are of merchantable quality, they do what they are advertised to do, they aren't "dangerous or toxic goods", and aren't infringing intellectual / patented copyrights or are pirated..

I understand 100% if people think these are dubious but as @cereberus says Caveat Emptor rules. If you don't want the risk then don't buy - but many businesses sell at "loss leader" prices or even "give away" in conjunction with other offers.

Maybe some of these "alternative sources" might encourage people like Ms especially when it's an almost 1 Trillion dollar corporation on NASDAQ valuation to charge more realistic prices for its services= particularly to individuals.

I don't condone Piracy - but I'm not adverse to looking for decent deals and none of these cheap office offers have used "KMS" or other bypass activation schemes.

Nobody is forcing you into buying these things -- up to you.

Amazon could probably buy up Microsoft out of its "Petty cash Till" !!

Amazon though is remarkably easy to get refunds from if things go wrong. There's a lot of hate around Amazon -- maybe people are horribly afraid of a decent C21 efficient business.

I remember studying at Imperial College in London for a Phd in the UK ( actually England as I think Scotland always had different laws on Sunday trading) many years ago and the only things you could buy on a Sunday were a House, car fuel or a few items of perishable food. -- even a Bible was not allowed and the bars were only open for a "Lunch time swill between 12.00 and 14,00 and for an evening "quickie" between 19.00 and 22.30.

Mind you I really enjoyed London during the rest of the week but Sundays !!!!!!! back then and eating out -- UK restaurants ????? who even knew what a restaurant was at that time !! Much better these days although after Brexit and supply chain problems not sure when I'm there again to test them.

I'll bet there's zillions on that Island who never realised how bad Sundays were over there at that time. !!!

Amazon open 24/7 and can often deliver on the same day !!!!.

Yes, this can be a Microsoft offer through its partners. Although, you can find a license for this package for less than $ 49
And, as I said. Licenses are working. But in general, cheap licenses are not meant to be sold as they are usually sold.

I noticed in your second image it shows that it is working in "Compatibility mode".
