Situation:
- I have a re-purposed 6th Gen Dell XPS laptop that my 9-year old son uses for school homework. He is also learning computers and Windows.
- I created him (and his younger brother) Microsoft accounts, and set up the Microsoft Family app to help manage apps and settings, and monitor content.
- He LOVES Minecraft (as do a lot of kids these days), but currently only has it on a Nintendo Switch and iPAD.
- Yesterday, since my wife and I were working, and he had an off-day from school, we sent him to a 1-day coding camp..it was Minecraft specific (creating mods). He LOVED it. When I went to pick him up, the instructor went out of his way to tell me how motivated, intelligent, and accomplished my son was that day. When he found out that we didn't have Minecraft installed on Windows, and that is apparently one of the platforms where their created mods can be used (possibly Linux too), he asked if he could send me a coupon for Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition on MS Store. I said yes...now I just need to make sure I install it properly.
Questions -
Windows 11 Profile options?
- Normally, I don't leave my MS Store account logged in...I got tired of not being able to delete apps that I just tried and didn't want to use...i.e. if signed in, they stay in your library forever..unlike Google Play Store where you can actually manage it.
- If I log into my Local Administrator account, but leave MS Store logged out, can I redeem the game coupon and install for "everyone"...or will it only install for my profile?
- If not, can I sign in to my Windows and MS Store account(s), and purchase the game there. Then, log into my son's Windows profile, sign in to MS Store with my account, install the game so he can use on his profile, and then log back out?
- Other options?
Thanks.
