On the current Beta version. MS Store crashes when I attempt to execute... Opens briefly, looks like it is trying to load the "home" page, and then closes. I get the below:

If you haven't already, I would start here...

Tried those. Neither is working.

Have also tried all the "troubleshooter" choices and also doing Repai and Reset from Settings/Apps

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.... I was on Windows 10 and I chose to uninstall MS Store.
Then, I found I needed it. None of the normal methods would bring it back.

Eventually, I used Solution #9, here...



The value of this link... is that there are 10 different solutions to try. If absolutely nothing works... then I'd suggest an In-Place Upgrade.

Anyone knows how to bypass the MS Store front page and go directly to update?

Anyway, here is the file. It scans clean locally and and Virustotal...

Solution 9: Use the Preinstalled Apps Zip to Reinstall Microsoft Store​

You can use the Preinstalled Apps (downloaded from the official Microsoft site) to install the Microsoft Store.

  1. Launch a web browser and download the reinstall-preinstalledApps.zip file.
  2. Now extract the downloaded file and note down the path of the extracted file (it is better to click in the address bar and copy it).

  3. Then right-click on the Windows button and in the menu shown, choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
  4. Then, in PowerShell, execute the following: Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
  5. Now, in the PowerShell, navigate to the extracted file directory at step 2 by executing the following:cd C:\Users\(yourusername)\Downloads\Compressed\reinstall-preinstalledApps
    (You can paste the link copied at step 2 by pressing Ctrl + V keys at the PowerShell window just after the command cd and space)
  6. Then execute the following.\reinstall-preinstalledApps.ps1 *Microsoft.WindowsStore*

  7. Now in PowerShell, execute the following: WSReset.exe
  8. After execution of the command, check if the Microsoft Store is working fine.
  9. If not, reboot your machine and upon reboot, check if the Microsoft Store issue is resolved.

No go,
No issues in DEV or Canary though, even though it's the same store version.
So it's not a store issue, combase.dll is a different version.

I have all the channels and can switch at will.
I 'd be wasting my time as I am confident it is code/release related affecting some Beta installations only.

I would like to add my 2 cents. Like two months ago had an issue with a dll in Office, it was crashing when editing in Excel, so I tried reinstall and even restored an image backup from it. Ran antivirus scans, nothing. Neither it worked, so the only solution was a clean install. I solved with a restore installation.

I restored Beta to 22635.2552.
Ran the store updates, all 11 of them, including an update to the MS store.
Store is running fine, so the issue lies with core cumulative updates applied since.
