I've had Teams installed on Windows 10, but could never get up to speed on it.

My number one problem is getting rid of old stuff that's not useful to me. So far, I cannot find a way to delete old conversations.

Also, I accidentally clicked on a person I don't know and now I can't cancel a chat I didn't intend to have. :eek:

Agree that you can't remove a draft if you happen to select someone accidentally. Maybe they'll fix at a later date.

Issue I had was that Teams (preview) would freeze. Task manager showed high usage from 'Microsoft Edge WebView2' and had to end task. Tried the repair and reset and 'uninstall', in the usual way, but setting up via Chat again, it would return corrupted.

Fixed it by uninstalling Teams(preview) using Geek Uninstaller which removes some registry settings. Setting up again via Chat and Teams now works again with the added bonus of the 'Drafts' also being removed.

Completely uninstall any versions of Team and re-boot to clear any cache stuff and re-install Teams manually -- In general I find that installing anything from the store other than bog standard things like themes usually is far more limited than the stand alone independent install and often designed for tablets, phones, touch screen devices rather than "Serious proper PC's".

Works fine -- I actually like it better than SKYPE or ZOOM these days - you can chat with people not even on Windows.

For once Ms have got a piece of collaboration software decent. !!!! Perhaps because they designed it from scratch rather than having to mess around with modyfying SKYPE which they bought out.

Other than that it's been back as far as XP days !!! when they had for the time that excellent free program NetMeeting - they lost the plot after that but seem back on track these days again.

:eek: I've been in trouble with Chat from the outset, but I'm going to keep on keeping on. I have a couple of friends who will chat with me, so we'll see where that goes.

I did figure out how to sync only my Skype contacts rather than including the Outlook list with contacts from 35 years ago!

I am going to give feedback on the inability of removing old stuff and chat mistakes!

I'll come back and edit to show my feedback and possible link to it if anyone chooses to upvote.

I use Teams for work, and so I've set up the Teams Chat with my personal userid, so I can keep them separate.

The new Chat app will get a small workout tomorrow morning as I converse with a team across the globe about some things about a monitor I'm testing. If it works.

If not, I'll have to revert to the actual Teams app, which I've used for these weekly calls for a couple of months now.

Indeed. I sincerely hope it works, as the team I am conversing with tomorrow is for a different job, and Teams makes it a PITA to swap between accounts easily on Desktop. Having the new Chat may help alleviate it, even if I later have to change the login to a new one.

I'll be sure to report back sometime tomorrow on whether it worked or not, and if so, how well it performed.

Welp - I tried. It would not connect, but I think it was because I used my personal account, which I also use with Windows, to log into the Win11 Teams account, and the Teams meetings I was a part of were to my business account, which is also logged in to Teams - the Desktop app.

I'm going to try to uninstall the desktop app and then log out of the Win11 app and log in with my business account and see how that goes, and if it lets me then I will try to use it tomorrow for another meeting I Have.

I forgot to report - nope. The Chat built in with Win11 does not allow the use of corporate accounts at all, or at least unless you first add the account to your system.

I might try that (adding my work account to my desktop) later on and see if I can get it working. Having a native Teams and the Teams downloaded install is getting to be annoying.

I use Teams regularly for work, I dont use it for personal chats. Teams is great for work, the ability to share screens and see what each other is doing is fantastic. I have not set up a personal account.

If it works at all, I'll use it as a teaching tool for my Senior Citizen students. I cannot afford to pay for the business edition.
