Minimized program looses CPU

I run a CPU intensive program (FL Studio). When working on a project, CPU usage is fine, the program is performing normally, audio coming from the program is fine. Once minimized, it looses all CPU power and the audio starts miss-behaving. If i quickly open the app back up, i can see it's maxed out and cant get enough resources to run, but quickly returns to normal.

Is there a way to keep a minimized program using the same CPU power as when its maximized in the foreground? I tried forcing HIGH priority in task manager details which did not work, although i'm not sure if its a windows software allocation issue or Intels optimization's?

Does anyone know what is managing CPU allocations?

It is a fair question for this forum, but out of interest, did you look around/ask in the FL Studio Forums? Maybe there are others in that community that have faced the same issue and have an answer, or not.

I may have just stumbled across a solution from another thread here, a user had simliar issue with a differnt program, and said they would try a program named "Process Lasso" and they never returned to the thread. I assumed it worked.

A quick test right now and it seems to be working with these settings:
The program to always have "high" CPU Priority & I/O Priority & Efficiency Mode "off".

If I encounter issues I may return, if not this should help others. Thanks!

Yes, some members never return to let us know how things went. Especially when people search for an issue on the net and find themselves reading posts here that reflect the same issues… which never get resolved because the OP’s don’t return, it’s possibly frustrating to them.

Microsoft has made a lot of changes to the scheduler in Windows 11. You're not the only one with this issue. Even changing advanced scheduler settings to prioritize background tasks does not help. Somehow only the foreground apps get full priority...which makes no sense in some cases, like streaming and background processing of video and audio.

I hope the app of your choosing resolved this issue and I also hope you return here to report in a few weeks, your problem was solved (or not solved)
