Solved Mismatched device names

I reinstalled Windows 11 two weeks ago and it still shows the device name from the previous installation and an old build number in Settings > Connected devices.
I am signed in with a Microsoft account and sync is turned on.
I can't fix the device name in my Microsoft account because only Microsoft devices can be registered (Surface, Xbox). It won't accept other devices.

Could this be a problem or should I just ignore it?

It will register non Microsoft devices as I have two non Microsoft PC's registered in my account. Not sure what is involved though. I thought changing your PC name in settings under system and rebooting would automatically sync the new name to your MS account.

I don't want to change the name of my device.
When I installed it, it was automatically named DESKTOP xxxxxxx and I want to keep it that way.
However, I don't see this device name under Settings > Accounts > Connected devices.

Fixed.
Manually saving a recent backup also updated the device name in the linked devices.
Settings > Accounts > Windows Backup > Sync your Microsoft account with Windows > Manage
