I then used Winaero Tweaker to customize "This PC" folders in the top right pane. Adding my most used folders. Which are basically all my relevant folders because they now added to and expand open on the left allowing me quick access to sub-folders.
This also allows "Open To Folder" when clicking on a folder in the right pane.

To do this you need to remove all of the "This PC" folders from the top right and re-add them using Winaero Tweaker.
They then appear at the left pane.

The downside of the structure shown in the image below is that I had to add "This PC" to the custom folders on the right so I could drag it to the top of "Quick Access" which means This PC appears twice in the left Navigation Pane. No big deal. It still shows at the top.

It might be a bit of tweaking but it's how I personally want my File Explorer.

All this is easily undone.

I went even simpler than @antspants. I hate redundancy and I like what I like in explorer. Here's mine. All my tweaking was done using Brink's tutorials rather than Winaero. There are multiple ways to skin a cat to get what YOU want.

I’ve not yet been able to find a way to move This PC to the top of the left pane though with any tweaks here.
I figured adding it to the top of Quick Access was a fair compromise. Also, the benefit of This PC folders in the right left pane was a bonus.

like glasskuter said, it’s all a personal choice for convenience.

If you use the default This PC folders that are on the right top of This PC, they don't open in the left pane, just below in the right.

I always found that annoying.

There’s a tweak in here to remove that I believe.

Note: I think 24H2 breaks one of the tutorials. It puts Home.... back.
And re-doing the tutorial doesn't remove it.

I tried In-Place upgrade to 24H2 on non-Insider comp with Local account...

Don't try this unless you're brave and have a fresh backup (or a Copilot+ PC ). The In-Place Upgrade actually worked. I downloaded 26100.1586 from UUP Dump, and then did the In-Place Upgrade. After it finished I check the OS Build. It was 24H2 but only 26100.1 So I went to Windows Updates...

@antspants Nope. Don't use it. I just didn't uninstall Onedrive. I disabled it's autostart. I only use it on the web to drop stuff into for links here in the forum. Nuthin' shows up in that folder on the navigation pane.. I tried a Brink tweak I found on Tenforum but it didn't get rid of it in navigation pane. I guess I should go ahead and uninstall it.
I'm a Google Drive user though.

I had removed OneDrive from Windows 10 (using REVO), without ever using OneDrive.
Then I did an In-Place Upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11 on Oct. 6th 2021.

Then I REVOed any apps that came back.

So I'm not sure how to remove the leftover folder.
