And I did, and it runs 4-7° C cooler with the new sink. But I think a WD with the same sink might run ~10-12° C cooler. So, after I looked up the safe temps range for these disks (a few days ago, when I became concerned about this issue) and found the same data you found in post #60, I decided not to worry too much about it, but to work at replacing hot with cooler as the budget permits. It's just a matter of personal preference more than it is a matter of fear of disk failure or data loss. Cool: Good. Hot: Bad. Too Cool: Not good. Too Hot: Horribly Bad.

To me, it's kinda like having a zero Inbox every night, or using portables and standalones instead of installed programs, so that I get the app, but not the installation. I just like it that way. A lot of the work we do on this forum is done just to help people get Windows 11 to work the way they like it. And I find it both worthwhile and satisfying. I think you'll agree with that last sentiment.

There was a TV detective show called Monk. I don't know if you ever watched it or not. In the show Monk has a severe case of OCD. I have most of the series on DVD that I bought one season at a time. I didn't notice it until the othe day when I was organizing my DVD collection. There is one season where the DVD box is backwards from the others. At first I wondered why. Then I remembered that Monk had OCD and had to have everything in it's proper order. My biggest OCD is money. All of my money in my wallet has to be upright, facing the same way and in the proper order of of value.

I try to straighten them out the best I can but not if I'm in a public place.
