My PC will not shut down or find my speakers

The SSD light goes out but the computer on light stays lit.If I take it to my local repairer it is a minimum of $80. Is there any software that could diagnose and/ fix my PC? V 21H2

Shutdowns are logged in Window's Event Viewer which you can view the next time you logon. That will tell you if the computer is shutdown properly. Follow Brink's tutorial to locate the shutdown reports:

Otherwise, it could be a wiring problem. check the wiring between the case and the motherboard, and make sure everything is wired correctly according to the user manual.

If all else fails, take it down to bare minimum to boot and test... mobo, cpu, 1 stick of ram, psu, mouse&keyboard. (Usually the first stick of bank 0 ram is the lowest numbered slot closest to the cpu, but you would have to look at your mobo manual to know for sure in your case)Disconnect all drives except boot drive from motherboard. Remove the graphics card and use the Intel® UHD Graphics 630. (depending on your settings in bios you may have to direct bios to use the integrated graphics) If still have issue, remove that stick of ram,replace it with one of the others, and try again.

If you do not have a shutdown problem in this configuration, connect one device at a time testing after each one. Use process of elimination to find faulty hardware.

Edited to better clarify what I was saying. Doing a web search, I found that some desktops do support Modern Standby. Read the note. Modern Standby

I didn't know until I did a search. Luckily my desktops don't support Modern Standby. I think Modern Standby almost fried my laptop. It was so hot that it wouldn't do anything until after it cooled down.
