My power button no longer turns off my PC

Hi

My problem is that when I press the power button on my case, or click on Windows 11 shutdown, Windows closes and the monitor loses signal but my PC fans are still running like all my other pc compnents. I know that because all have some color leds, and it stays in that state until I power off my UPS. What is wrong and how to fix this problem ? . BIOS has latest version. Also if I am inside the BIOS and press on the power button, I get the same result.

What LEDs can you see? Is motherboard LAN LEDs still working?

Have you tried turning off computer via the switch on the PSU? (Might be awkward to reach, but if you can angle the computer case, you might be able to do so, as a one off test.)

Instead of turning off, can you put your computer to sleep? DO the fans, etc, turn off then?

Motherboard, cooler, GPU, and sound card all light up.

yes and when I turn it on again, my pc turn on by itself

sleep or hibernate are disabled. Should I enable sleep and try ?

I got a black screen but all components are still running. I tried to wake it up by pressing any key but it does not respond so I had to turn off my ups

It will only wake on key press (or mouse press) if you have set this up in the UEFI. Otherwise, use the Power Button to wake up your machine .

Anyway, the important test is that your LEDs and fans are still running. They are on the 3.3V rails. Standby (aka Sleep mode) power is on the +5VSB rail. So, the 3.3V rails should be Off.

Could be an indication that the Power Supply is now faulty. Question is, how to test further, as this usually requires multimeter or a spare power supply, or a spare computer .

I dont have any. And my PSU is silverstone hela 1200w platinum so it should be a very good PSU

Open admin command prompt and try to restore default schemes.

I uninstalled the app that was controlling power and I executed your command then restart but still I am unable to create or edit any power plan. I get the same screen as in my previous post

Fast Startup is not in your power plan it's in your bios under the boot tab. I haven't has any problems with Linux Grub since turning it off.

Just pressing the power button when on the bios screen does nothing.

You have to press and hold the power button until the PC powers off.

No. The monitor loose signal and all components still running

That has no effect I have to press the UPS power button to make my pc turned off. And after that, I keep pressing the case power button for another 20 seconds until I hear a very light sound, it is a very low sound like a tick

I am unable to change power plane I still get this screen:

Seems like a key piece of information that it's not a Windows issue.

Windows is not running when you're in the BIOS.
