hi,
I have gotten a message recently stating: This function is not available now. Make sure that your camera is working properly and has allowed MyASUS access to it when going to the camera settings in MyASUS. I checked the Windows settings and the settings has been turned on. How to fix this issue? It happened last year.

Settings>System>Troubleshooter>Other Troubleshooter>Camera
Also check Relibility History for entries when the message---this function etc---appears.

I have an Asus laptop with the MyASUS app. I've never had that problem but I have my camera turned off as I have no need for it.

Why does MyASUS need access to the camera? The built-in Windows camera driver should be sufficient

Programs like MyASUS are simply proprietary bloatware which duplicate functions already provided/performed by built-in Windows options.

Actually it's quite useful if you have a Asus it lets me know when I have driver and bios updates anf tracks my warranty. I hate their website I would rather go to the dentist.

Your warranty will not be affected whether MyASUS is installed or not

All this tracking and checking is a constant extra burden on your system's resources. None of it is necessary or essential.

But, user's choice.

On my Asus laptop MyASUS is the first thing I remove, then with AUTORUNS one can check all the background BLOAT that runs and the only 2 that I need is "ASUS Optimization" for the keyboard to function properly.

My ASUS Vivobook became MyASUS free the moment I opened the lid (good ole RevoUninstaller)

Next step was to turn off and disable all the ASUS entries in Services. Occasionally ASUS get a bit narky and turn them back on with some update, but I just run the "net stop" script and kill them all (again) in one hit.

Camera still works, keyboard still fully functional, et al.

I checked the reliability history but nothing with MyASUS. Any other fixes?

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming laptop.

In Privacy & security > Camera there is no option to allow the MyASUS app to have access to it.

There is nothing in the MyASUS app about about the webcam. The app has hardware diagnostics but testing the camera is not one of them.

I reinstalled Windows and the problem should go away. Haven't checked yet

That's because a clean install doesn't contain the proprietary bloatware (as well as none of the ad/demo/clickbait-ware that also comes with new devices). After I image the OOBE installation, this is a requirement before I agree to assist on any device.

Unfortunately, ASUS and HP sometimes like to sneak the bloatware in with some later Windows update. Becomes an "us -vs- them" cat-and-mouse game.

After reinstalling Windows 11 and updating the camera driver from ASUS, the setting is not grayed out as in the screenshot. Yet, after installing the latest Windows 11 insider build, it is grayed out. Any ideas?
