I feel I must interject on this one. I've used OneDrive for over 16 years, and I've used Outlook for over 25 years. Both have worked flawlessly both personally and in a corporate environment. Why POP? Unless you're careful with the settings on whatever email client you use, you're likely to delete the emails off the mail server.
EDIT
When (hopefully not If?) you get this sorted, just make sure you get the h3ll out of both OneDrive and Outlook. Most of the forums on the internet would cease to exist if it wasn't because of these 2 Microsoft abominations
And there's the rub, which is why ...I've used OneDrive for over 16 years, and I've used Outlook for over 25 years.
Experienced users such as yourself who have grown with programs that, in their infancy, allowed - and often required - users to make their own settings determination, and thus learnt to manage the development/changes to the programs, over timeBoth have worked flawlessly both personally and in a corporate environment.
Microsoft is not willingly going to let you delete Onedrive.Well, that's the problem: there are contradictory suggestions on the net about that. Some say it is Legit and others -like yourself- claim that it is a scam. That's why I'm so confused.
Please also note that OneDrive really is frozen in m If you feel held back by the waiter we can give you the tools to help you break free credit card location personalized guidance to improve your credit savings taxes and more so you can find your way to money into a credit karma karma you can count on y account (I can't get to it unless I *unfreeze* it).
The domain is legitimate. The email is not. They have spoofed the email address (domain). If you know how to read the header information in the email, you’ll possibly find the actual originating address.Well, that's the problem: there are contradictory suggestions on the net about that. yep. my thoughts exactly. funny that even copilot said "CAN BE LEGITIMATE". immediate red flag to meThe domain is legitimate. The email is not. They have spoofed the email address (domain). Yes, I know how to enable the headers but not necessarily know how to read them properly. The domain is legitimate. The email is not. They have spoofed the email address (domain). If you know how to read the header information in the email, you’ll possibly find the actual originating address.
My subscription was renewed just before the price increase. I'm going to wait until the end of the year and change to the basic plan or what ever MS calls it.It reminds me of an email I received recently allegedly from Microsoft : An apologetic missive informing me how that due to "costs" my legacy Family Office 365 subscription would be increased to the same price as the Co-Pilot version. I wasn't pleased to say the least but I ignored it. Sure enough I was charged for the legacy version upon renewal — not the Co-Pilot version.
To me, OneDrive and Outlook are nothing short of another form of ransomware - OneDrive because, on installation, it immediately captures an unsuspecting user's data to its servers, and now Outlook because any email account (MS or otherwise) set up in Outlook requires "redirection" of the emails through Microsoft's email servers.
For myself I totally agree that having my Documents and Pictures saved to OneDrive is a Plus. What I don't like when setting up a new device is that MS makes everyone that don't know the work arounds use a MS account. This not only causes the User name to be the first five charters of the email address but places the User Folders on OneDrive. This is not always covenant for a user. IMO, MS should explain the pros and cons of using the MS account when first setting a device up and let the user decide. When I turned on my new computer and logged in to my Microsoft Account BAM, I immediately had Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and all my files and photos were instantly there in my 1TB of OneDrive. I love it! My annual subscription of $69 for Microsoft 365 is a total no brainer.

I've used only a C: drive since my first hard drive about 40 years ago.My personal files are stored locally on a separate SSD, and that folder is my default save location, linked to OneDrive
Some of the files have been through 3-4 different PC builds and I've never lost one
I also make a Macrium folder backup twice a week
Anyone who puts their personal files on C: is asking for trouble
That certainly is one of the huge benefits of OneDrive. I always have multiple computers running concurrently and being able to move transparently from one computer to another without missing a beat with all files always up to date everywhere in real-time is indeed nothing short of a miracle!I'm a graphic designer, and I have 2 offices that I work out of, so having Onedrive is a God Send since I can work on a project at 1 office and finish or edit the same project at the other office. Sometimes I take my laptop and continue the editing remotely
