You reminded me of an old funny picture that Frankenstein said "It's alive", while his assistant said "wait until you see the electricity bill".
Here in Greece building a PC from parts is common as OEM are usually more expensive. Plus you can choose the components you want, while OEM might have some components right but some not ideal. Also I hate when some models use non-standard motherboards or power supplies and cannot be easily upgraded. Of course OEMs want to pay a premium to upgrade or buy a new one.
