Hello All

Sorta wondering if i wasted money on this, or if its good for like minor little video editing jobs or burning video dvds at times of older VHS encoded TV shows from many years ago, currently stored on Internal storage drive in .MP4 format. as well as Copy on OneDrive, and 3 Externals since likely hood of replacing those files are slim, as since the move i can't even find old VHS player or the original VHS tapes or other DVD's i own lol

So, all you want to do is burn DVDs that you have MP4 files for or will you use it for other purposes like photos and software?
Have you done searches before landing on this suite?

Didn't do many searches, seen an ad in my email back in late November for Lifetime license, and so i was like yeah getting it lol.

Gonna explore more of the suite tomorrow i think if time, and use it more than i have lately

My DVD burner is External usb burner

**Tomorrow i'll post a hardware issue having with Gaming Laptop/and its darn stuck screw once i have time to*** as well, think that would be also constructive to get figured out and solved as well. ((plan on getting picture of said screw as soon as possible))

The only real problem with NERO is that is seriously bloated.
You might find that you can do everything you need with two free programs...

Anyburn for DVD, USB stuff (ripping and burning, etc.
Avidemux for editing videos.

I was going to suggest other ways too but, since you already have a lifetime then, just go with it
and as @Ghot suggested, uninstall the stuff you won't need and make as lean as you need it to be.

For burning purposes ( Data , Multimedia , ISO) I use BurnAwarefree

makemkv is the only program I use to backup DVD's. Over the years I've tried all the others. makemkv has never failed. I don't edit any of the DVD's.

I don't burn much anymore, but if you only want to burn to some optical discs occasionally, then I wouldn't be installing that behemoth Nero Platinum Suite. It's been a few years since I tried it, but the crap it installs is ridiculous. There are some trimmed down lite versions around that still require a valid license. There are also official lite versions available in the Microsoft Store.

Decided not to linstall it on the previous clean install, as i was like actually don't use External DVD Writer as much as i thought i would when purchased it lol.

Did use it a little bit after purchase in 2024, but didn't use it for too long. Plus even after buying the Lifetime license, found out isn't entitled to updates to latest version, and customer support suggested purchasing the Annual version instead.
