It looks like pretty much everything in the free version is disabled, but the AV, the web protection and the Threat Defense.
Which is probably a good thing. :-)

I have the paid version now, and it is resource heavy.
The only problem with the free version is that it doesn't have a Firewall.

So... this year when it comes time to renew... I may go with the free version and find a decent free firewall.
There's a few I will try out. Namely... Tiny Wall, Simple Wall and Zonealarm. All the free versions.


Or I may just be lazy and just renew the paid Bitdefender Internet Security. I've been running that since 2013.

See a lot of decent reviews on it's performance for a no frills AV. It's speedy with very good protection. The previous free version was great and light on resources. I get the feeling this version added nags and ads so not sure if I want to bother with this one.

Bit Defender is good with the correct Anti virus setting ( Home network ) !
Still blocks some generic software unexpectedly that have to be let in to "exceptions"
Still its better than my second choice for 16 years , namely Kaspersky .
Cant use that at the moment !!

It looks like they just took out the firewall, and made a bunch of the modules pay to play.
Honestly, I liked the older free version better.

I used the old free version for years and never had a problem. Was basically set it and forget it. Will probably pass on this one and stick with Defender and Malwarebytes Free for additional on demand scans.
