New BT headset problem

I recently got my headset to work after discovering it had been turned off. Been working since then but now new issue -- they work on pc as in listening to pc stuff. Does not work on pc as in web stuff. If they say they are connected and they do work on the pc local, I can assume they are paired, right? Annoying these things I must say!! Thanks.

I disconnected both headsets from - my Kindle. I was then able to connect on my pc and tune in. So frustrating. I guess you can't have more than one bt headset connected at the same time. True?

Unfortunately, if any other device has connected to the headphones they don't connect automatically to the PC unless you disconnect them or turn of the other device.

Thanks for that. I would like to be able to use one set for two devices - as in, my pc and my Kindle. I think I read that it is possible but my attempt at doing so -- no deal.

There are sets that claim to work on two devices, but I am not sure if they actually do that without having to disconnect from the other device. I have a JBL speaker that it is connected to the smartphone to listen to music and once I switch on my laptop it connects there automatically. If I disconnect the laptop or turn it off, it doesn't automatically reconnects to the smartphone, I have to do it manually, so not exactly what you want.

This tech is called Multipoint. Multiple connections via Bluetooth is only starting to rear its head into the tech world, they've been working on it for awhile now but to see it across all devices etc its gonna be a few or so years..ill probably be dead by then..lol. Oh well.

I have the latest high end Sony Buds and they will connect, using Bluetooth, to either my computer or music on my phone, whichever I'm currently using. They switch transparently and all I have to do is turn to use either device. Both devices can be on and running. It only depends on which I turn to. It works flawlessly and it's amazing!

I've found that newer, high end buds will support Multipoint, whereas older, less expensive ones won't.
My latest Sony buds, Jabra Elites and Jabra Headset does, my older ones don't.

How often you need to switch between two or more devices? Is the extra cost worth it? Just make sure the Bluetooth is switched off on the other devices so you can connect to the computer and vice versa. That's what I do with my cheap pods, so I can use them on my PC, on my laptop, my tablet and my smartphone. If all others are out of range (or Bluetooth disabled) and I switch on the device I want it connects automatically. Well, on the PC and laptop not always, unless this was the last device I used, but it is not that hard to go to Settings and click on the connect button.

I never realized how annoying having one pair of buds is since I have 1 phone, 1 tablet, 1 PC, 1 TV and 1 soundbar system all with Bluetooth. Now, to have to turn On/Off Bluetooth back and forth continuously is silly. I cant wait to get better earbuds that do this. Mine are cheaper ones. And the other seriously messed up part of the whole thing is I certainly am not going to buy 1 pair of different buds for every device i own so i don't have switch on/off Bluetooth continuously. I now realize how wonderful Multipoint truly is.

I only need them for 3 devices. I don't think my tv is BT enabled so end of story there. It is about 10 years old. So I am covered for my 2 Kindles... I will check out Multipoint however. Thanks.

For my non-Bluetooth TV I have bought an audio jack to Bluetooth adapter. It appears like headphones to the TV with its separate audio volume setting. It is paired to my JBL speaker and connects automatically every time I power the adapter (via a small USB cable connected to the TV), assuming the speaker is in range and not connected to the laptop. Very convenient for listening to movie audio at low volume so we don't wake up the kid at night (we placed the speaker on a coffee table near the couch). To be able to hear the movie audio from the TV speakers we had to increase the volume. I would also bet the audio quality of JBL is better than the TV speakers.
