Windows 11 23H2
Hi there

I rebuilt this machine a couple of months ago and have been getting sporadic BSODs with various error codes since. At first, many of them were memory-related and it appeared I had fixed this by disabling AMD EXPO in BIOS. But I still seem to be getting them on an almost daily basis and they have me a bit stumped. I would appreciate any input or advice you folks would have on the problem.

The OS drive was cloned from my old machine (Windows 10 at the time) without issue and I then upgraded it to Windows 11. A reinstall of Windows would be an absolute last resort and I would prefer to avoid this if at all possible.

Please find my zip file from the log collector script linked below.

Many thanks in advance.

Please perform the following steps:

1) Run Tuneup plus > post a share link

2) Create a new restore point

3) Read this tutorial on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

4) Plan to run WDV for 48 hours with various customized tests

Start the tool with these settings:

a) test all non-Microsoft drivers
b) test no Microsoft drivers
c) start the testing with the 3 customized tests in the TF link

Each time the tool is restarted if there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

During the troubleshooting WDV can run continuously in the background until the testing is modified.

As for the sfc fixing imageres.dll.mun, I'm pretty sure I know what that is. I recently used winaerotweaker to change my windows startup sound and I believe this is the file that it changes to do so:

Change Startup Sound in Windows 10

Looking forward to any more suggestions you may have.

Many thanks!

1) Please turn off WDV then reboot

2) Create a new restore point

3) Restart WDV with all customized tests except:

[ ] 0x00000004 Randomized low resources simulation.

If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

If there are no major performance problems then run WDV continuously for 24 hours.

After 24 hours if there were no BSOD then turn off WDV.

This will complete the use of the tool.

After completing WDV testing plan to run Memtest86 for 8 or more passes.

Hi zbook.

Running the verifier with those settings caused immediate BSOD on boot with PxHIpa64.sys. This seems to be from Roxio Burn? I don't think I've ever had this installed...it can also be for an optical drive but I don't have any of them in my machine any more and don't see any in the hidden devices either.

Even after resetting verifier and deleting settings from startup repair it would still not boot without BSOD so I reverted to restore point. Find attached the log collector zip.

1) Please make a new restore point

2) System restore often causes the loss of the dump file

Whenever possible turn off WDV using one or more of these commands:

verifier /reset

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

Restart WDV with these customized tests:

Code:
    [ ] 0x00200000 NDIS/WIFI verification.
    [ ] 0x00800000 Kernel synchronization delay fuzzing.
    [ ] 0x01000000 VM switch verification.
    [ ] 0x02000000 Code integrity checks.

If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

That one did give a BSOD again. Running verifier /reset from recovery did nothing and I was stuck in a boot loop again so had to go into safe mode and run the command again to get it to apply. The log collector is attached below:
