Have a new HP Envy Windows 11 17 Inch Display 12 GB Ram
New computer has a camera but when I click to load it just keeps running and does not load?

How does one use the camera?

Windows 11 does have a Camera app in the menu items. Additionally, the device brand website (HP) may have software (although, being HP, that should come already installed with their usual other proprietary bloatware).

However, camera usage is usally associated with other software such as Skype, Zoom, etc.

Well had to go to
settings- Privacy Settings - Devices - Camera make sure settings are set for on

That did the trick but still no software to use it like in Windows 10,8 etc.

Exactly the same as in Windows 10, Privacy settings and Camera App, more Apps in the MS Store.

A lot of Laptops now have a mechanical shutter or camera on/off switch.

The Camera App is in the 'all apps list'. Even if access is turned off it will show you the the options.

OK there is a camera on and off button did not see that. ocated to the left of the on/off button
