I want to use some Canon camera software with Windows 11 but it won’t work. However it always worked on Windows 10.
After the camera is connectted to the PC via USB and turned on, the software supposed to automatically launch. It lets you download all or just new photos. But that does not t happen with Windows 11.
I can manually go into different sections of the program & click on an .exe file.
MyCamera.exe says “A supported device cannot be found.”
CameraLauncher.exe says “Cannot detect camera.”
However Control Panel > Device Manager shows it as a Portable Device/MTP USB Device. Right clicking on that & “Scan for hardware changes” changes the description to the actual model of the camera.
If I go into Windows > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, the camera is listed under Other devices as Canon Digital Camera, and after about 30 seconds it changes to the actual camera model .
Windows 11 knows the camera is connected but the software won’t recognize it.
I’ve done the Uninstall device > Scan for hardware changes but that didn’t work.
Any suggestions on how to get this working?
