Works OK even when the Windows machine itself is a VM and the samsung phone is an old one - S21 Ultra (which I'm upgrading soon to the S26 as there's a huge decent deal on upgrade currently) -- at least here -- €40 up front and €35 per month -- where I can pay the balance off any time without penalty and reduction on interest for early payment is calculated too. It works better than a trade in which vodaphone have on their website.

It's worked fine for me with a S20 Ultra which I just replaced, with a trade in for a 'free' (had to agree to a two year contract with my existing provider) S25 FE. Swapping the two out was painless. Seven OS updates is a decent selling point. That's basically 8 years of OS updates.

Working perfectly with Samsung s26 ultra !! and latest insider W11 26H2 experimental build both on a VM (on Linux Host) and running natively on another laptop. Did the trade in upgrade - seems cheap enough so took advantage before these deals run out. Did have to sign 24 month contact with present provider though and interest rate reduced to 4.7% which seems reasonable enough these days on a device essentially with a base price of around € or $(US) 2,000

I suspect also providers want continuity of customers so are probably absorbing some of the cost of these upgrades which with upcoming Chip shortages due either to price rises for Chinese imports -- Tariff's again imposed by you know who - or the continual idiocy taking place in straits of Hormuz causing supply chain problems.
