I purchased a brand-new Microsoft Surface Pro 12 inch directly from Microsoft. Question I have is in regard to the "Find My Device". When I sign on to my Microsoft account, I see my Surface Pro listed under devices, but when I try to "Find My Device", I get the message that says unable to locate device. I have tried everything, including having Microsoft remote into my computer to check settings. All my settings are correct. Is this supposed to show the location of my laptop and allow me to lock it if stolen or lost? if so, I would like this feature to actually work .

Are you running a Canary build on that system?
Canary builds should NOT be considered ready for prime time as the branch is not recommended for mission critical use.

You need to have location enabled on the device you're trying to locate and it needs to have a either a mobile data plan, connected to WiFi or ethernet. It does not use Bluetooth to report location to other devices.
