    The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.

Done here, these updates don't normally cause problems. I always re-do and test my Macrium recovery drive after an update

Better to test it when you DON'T need it than find there's a problem when you do!

I agree Brian, I just tested mine and it boots fine, after all when creating it all sorts of things could go wrong especially when writing to the usb

Out of paranoia, I tend to update my recovery media as well, but I have noticed that Macrium will tell you in the release notes for their updates if it is necessary to update the recovery media.

Just force of habit for me to do it now. I just found out you can actually create an image with the usb recovery media, I never really took that much notice of it before
