New Version of Windows ADK is Available

For those interested in performing assessment and deployment tasks, I just noticed that the updated version of the Windows ADK (Assessment and Deployment Kit) is available for Windows 11 22H2. Of course, this will work for the original 21H2 release and Windows 10 as well. The Windows PE Addon is also available from the same location.

Can I install Windows ADK for Windows 11, Version 22H2 and Windows PE Add-on for Windows ADK for Windows 11, Version 22H2 on Windows 10 computers? I use Windows PE for bootable media. I'd rather keep it all the same.


Edit: I just tested installing the same installers on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
It works fine. It currently installs v10.1.22621.1.

The rule of thumb is to install the latest version or the version matching the latest version of Windows that you wish to use with the ADK. For example, if you are planning to create answer files for Windows 11 22H2, you should install the 22H2 version (or newer, when available) of the ADK.

I've since installed Windows ADK for Windows 11 Version 22H2 v10.1.22621.1 on four computers.
Three computers are Windows 10, and one is Windows 11.

I created TBWinPE boot media on each computer and booted to it. The obvious difference when booting to it is the new spinning circle that Windows 11 has.

I think the only thing that some people may have to consider is that Windows ADK for Windows 11 Version 22H2 v10.1.22621.1 is 64-bit only. It doesn't bother me as I haven't used a 64-bit operating system in eons.

By the way. If anyone wishes to stay with Windows ADK for Windows 10, look for Version 2004 v10.1.19041.1 and its corresponding Windows PE Add-on. From Windows 10, version 1809 10.1.17763.1, the Windows Preinstallation Environment (PE) is released separately from the ADK.
