Hello friends.

Since a week ago some new warnings that I had never seen before started to appear in the event viewer.
I did some Google searches but found very few results.
I haven't installed any new program or change any settings that can explain the event.
I leave here the identification of these warnings in case someone can give some help.
It doesn't seem to affect performance but since it came out of nowhere I'd like to know why.
I see between 5 or 6 a day of these warnings.
Starts in April, 14

Warning
EventSystem
Id 4627
Firing agent

"The COM+ Event System timed out when trying to fire the DisplayLock method in event class {D5978630-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} for the publisher and subscriber . Subscriber has not responded within 180 seconds. The display name of the subscription is "SENS Logon Subscription". HRESULT was 800705b4"

Thanks a lot!

This is just a warning of Sens (System Event Notification Service), and is not an error.
DisplayLock warning means that an application tried to change display settings but that the screen display is locked.
(meaning it can't resize or scale the display, which is a good thing).
This can happen with non-native apps running at different res than the display, or remoting to another system at different res.
This is nothing to worry about.

more info for you here:

Hello.
Thank you both.
RDP in off in settings
I've been reading the linked article and it's too complicated for my basic knowledge.
I was just puzzled because I didn't do anything on the pc and this warning started out of nowhere.
As it apparently doesn't interfere with performance, I think I'll ignore it for now.
Maybe some Windows Defender definition update (it's the only definition update in the day the warnings started April 14).
Anyway I'll save the link to the article and wait to see if there are any performance glitches I notice in the pc's performance before trying any solutions.

Anyway, I was a happier person before I meet Event Viewer :lmao: !!!

I am getting almost the same message (also on Windows 11):
Event 4627 EventSystem
The COM+ Event System timed out attempting to fire the DisplayLock method on event class {D5978630-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} for publisher and subscriber . The subscriber failed to respond within 180 seconds. The display name of the subscription is "OneNote ISensLogon Subscription". The HRESULT was 80010002.

It seems to correlate with the main OneNote pane going blank white and the app apparently becoming unresponsive.
However - there is a workaround to get OneNote back. I am viewing OneNote in my external display (A Dell U3011).
If I change (e.g. with the Windows-P shorcut) to display everything on my laptop display then OneNote redraws it's window and is working again... and of course I can then switch output back to the external monitor and OneNote continues working.

I suspect the U3011 may not be properly supported on Win11 (I have also had repeated BSODs when the machine was apparently switched to Standby and then left for some time) - and this also occurred when I had been inactive for a while.
(Laptop is a Dell Precision 3570 with T550 NVIDIA graphics, but probably just running on Intel graphics under light load)

No matter what you do and how well you maintain your system, in event viewer there will always be generated some errors and warnings.

Event viewer is almost as complex as registry and the documentation is scarce for both.

Event Viewer is a scary place to visit. I don't visit unless I have to resolve a problem. It will make you crazy. :eek1:
