Alright, I have no idea what you're on about. You complained about tranparency, and I gave you a link to their information about updates. Then you're onto them being obviously oblivious or some such thing, and what's listed in Windows Update. Pick a lane.

You don't have to go searching for Defender updates or information about them, but you can if you want. There's no guarantee that Defender updates come out every day, so I'm not sure why people are even paying attention to this really.

I just looked after waking the computer up this morning. The version keeps going up, so they must be updating it pretty regularly!

Mostly curiosity on my part when it was discussed. I didn't do anything like was discussed, and it's still updating, so I suspect it's not broken.

No guarantee, but two days without a defender update is highly unusual and out of the norm. Normally there are several updates a day. Been that way for years.

MS has had a history of updating Defender several times a day, in Today's Inter webs security is somewhat important , so one would have to wonder why they stopped doing that?

Maybe no threats were serious enough to warrant an update, especially if you have cloud protection on. Maybe they all had to poop. Who knows.

Edit: Sometimes they release an update with seemingly nothing in it.
