So for those who removed Edge via Revo or command line, any side effects? What happens when you search for a link in the taskbar or start menu without edge installed?

on mine i removed edge, use edge dev and used the edgefkoff script from github. works perfect. all searches/links open in edge dev

just clone your disk in case you have issues..

I must have missed something browsing the thread, if I just remove edge with Revo I still need to use the script? What is Edge Dev?

Oh I see, I was curious as to the system behavior after simply removing Edge via Revo or other means without additional scripts or programs.

I was under the impression some had already taken the plunge of a straight uninstall without addons but I guess not. So now everyone's curiosity is peaked I see lol.

Wewll, that's what I tried last year... seriously uninstalling it, and that DID break Windows Update.

This is a kinder, gentler removal. Hopefully, it will just... work this time.

My Taskbar search works fine.
But I have it's web search disabled.

@Ghot I think I had the same problem, no longer showing in programs but showing in apps, I think mine went funny at the time of upgrade as I did the same as you. It is like there is 2 versions and one is an app the other a program. Anyway you are right it is showing in apps now thanks for info. I think now I will leave well alone as it's working fine on the rare occasions I use it.
