OS
Windows 11 Home, version: 22H2
Lately, HP laptop with Win11 x64 ( ver. 22H2) has no sound through Bose head phones. Plugged headphones into an

Android tablet and it works fine. Headphone sound on Win11 laptop comes back on only after a reboot each time and then works fine.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled driver. Can't seem to find anything in settings to fix this problem. I'm not sure if this problem started with the last MS update.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have.

I guess the audio driver doesn't properly detect the connected headphones. Maybe you can install a different driver. If this is the latest, try downloading and installing an earlier version. If it is not the latest, try installing the latest driver. Go directly at manufacturer's support site to get the audio driver, don't rely on Windows Update. The manufacturer will give you the complete driver package including the audio control panel to configure speakers/headphones and other settings.

Thank you so much for your reply, spapakons. All of the drivers are listed up to date and Device Manager doesn't show any problem. I have tried various changes and now the headphones are not working at all on the laptop... )-: The Bose plugin headphones are several years old and have always worked well. They still work well when connected to the Android Tablet. Bose headphones are not listed in Device Mngr. Windows has used Realtek sound drivers for the headphones)
Bose website doesn't list this set anymore. So, it's somewhere in the Windows settings.....Can't seem to get it to work...Maybe I just have to buy new headphones....Most of all, thank you so much for taking the time write!

Replace the audio driver. I have seen many non-Realtek cards that Windows Update has installed Realtek drivers for them. They appear OK in Device Manager but produce no sound or, more rarely, produce a distorted sound. Verify with your manufacturer if you have Realtek or other brand HD audio. Try the audio driver from their site. Go at Settings, Apps, Installed Applications and uninstall the Realtek audio driver. Restart and see if you have sound.

Thank you again for writing, spapakons. I finally got the headphone problem solved.
In the past, I deleted the headphones, mic. speaker, etc. from Device manager. Have not deleted "sound, video and game controllers" toward the bottom of Device Mngr. This made the difference. Everything is working well again.
Thank you again for your time and help!
