Windows 11 - Release Preview channel
I booted into safe mode today and found my task bar is blank with no start menu icon. Pressing the Windows key does nothing. The only things I can access are Task Manager via alt + ctrl + del and Windows key + R. My DISM and SFC checks are clean so I'm not sure what's happened...

I booted into safe mode to run the fix and found the task bar and start menu is back... I wonder if the DISM and SFC I ran after fixed it even though it reported no integrity violation? Why would this happen?

You should check the disk for errors as well.

I do run chkdsk c: /r on a regular basis. I ran that as well after discovering the missing taskbar so perhaps that also could have fixed it...

I'm not sure whether to mark this solved or not. Is the missing taskbar/start menu in safe mode some one off quirky bug?
