Not reading headphone mic

My computer is not picking up on my headphone's microphone. I just got a new headset for recording in hopes of making my voice clearer (and myself more comfortable as I have ta lean real close in to get my voice audible), a SADES Angel Edition gamin headset that comes with a mic. It's completely wired so no need ta set anythin up, as said on ta manual.

However, the mic does NOT work. I eve tested this by openin Audacity and recordin my voice while slowly leanin closer. It was a lot clearer when closer, so clearly it's still usin my inbuilt mic.

I have a Windows 10 Dell Latitude 14 (5480) and it does NOT have a separate mic jack. (That I could find. However when I go to ta recordin tab on control panel it does have a thing that says Jack Mic marked as not plugged in, so maybe it does and I just can't find it)

If this does mean my computer has a jack mic, how would I find it? I've checked my computer already, multiple times. My headset did come with a separator adapter. EDIT: I looked up and accordin to a visual guide of my computer model, it does not have a mic jack.

Go to Settings/System/Sound/Microphone and select the right device for your headphones Mic. You can test in there as well.

Re your Laptop. Scroll down to “Right View” in the link below to see the Mic Jack. If your male input is too big for it, you need to buy a small adapter for it to connect to your Laptop.

I don’t mean any offence, but these are cheap and the reviews aren’t great. There is no dedicated driver on the SADES website, in fact I can not see the headphones listed at all on their website sades.gg

Your only choice is to test all the offered drivers listed in Windows (in your image) if none of them work, I would suggest returning them as a faulty product, Angie.
Do so before they break as there are reviews I read stating that the Mic wires broke. Etc..

thank you... when i was lookin for headphones, it had a 4.3 ratin with sum thousand reviews so i thought they were good. i really wanted these for ta pink angel aesthetic too :(
i just got these not even 12 hours ago so plenty of time to return these.

what model is it though, is it the A6 or the cheaper model?

I would suggest you try all those drivers anyway

I just went by the bad reviews and seen if they had a common trend.

But if none of those above work, it’s a bad sign.

Angie, plug the headphones into the Headphone/Mic port (jack) and then look for optional updates. If one of the other drivers doesn’t work, It’s a long-shot but worth a try.

I see you have a dell laptop. Some dell's require a oem software to be installed to allow audio and mic to work.

Go to dells support website here:


Go under drivers and download any applications related to audio. I also know that newer dells use the dell optimizer app to configure audio found here:

Older dells use the Waves MaxxAudio app to configure mic and speakers


Also please be sure the mic is not muted. Look on your laptop keyboard and ensure that the mic is not lit up there indicating it is muted. As well as the application. If your using a web browser, ensure it has the permissions to access the audio.

You can also test the mic under windows sound settings, to see if the computer is hearing the mic.

You select Headset Microphone for that Mic.
The Microphone array is the internal Laptop Mic.

The Laptop has a Combo audio socket which includes the Headset Mic.

You already have drivers.

Same answer as your other thread for Windows 10, the Windows 11 version...
Right click on the Loudspeaker Icon > Sound Settings.
Input > Choose device > External Microphone > Click on that.

Input settings > Input Volume > move slider to max, or whatever suits.
Test is below that.
