There could be two reasons for what you are seeing, one is a missing font that Notepad expects to find, so it uses the nearest approximate or secondly those logs contain special formatting and need to be opened in a particular app. The heading on both suggests they are SQL logs, which stands for Structured Query Language, I believe, which means they are not plain text.
Dose the app that created the logs allow you to read them?

Thanks for your reply You've got me there" Yes the logs have SQL written on them" But where these Log's are created and what format is used is just beyond me? Secondly I have checked File >Font and "Open Sans, Regular, Size 11' is in Use, it is the default Font and before I changed it - it was Verdana for many many years' I have never had an issue with Note Pad I've just changed it backVerdana but I cant find where to get a Log on Note Pad from to Test it

Do you get the same issue opening a log file in a word processor such as LibreOffice Writer, WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, etc.? Might try a Free File Viewer:
My default Win11 installations show Verdana Console as the Font for Notepad. Or maybe try Notepad++, more powerful than Notepad.

Your logs contain tables and NotePad cannot work with them. It's just a simple text editor not a word processor.

You could try the built-in WordPad {I just tested WordPad and it can handle the test tables I had put in my test document} or, if you have one, the word processing application within an office suite [such as Word in MSOffice].
In Windows 10, WordPad is at
"%ProgramFiles%\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe"
but I cannot get at my Windows 11 computer at the moment so cannot check if it is in the same place or not.

If you do not have an office-like suite then you could try LibreOffice.

LibreOffice vs OpenOffice [RickC #30] - TenForums

You might even find that Excel or LibreOffice's equivalent presents these logs in a better manner.

What are these logs?
Where are these logs?

Best of luck,
Denis

What file is this you are trying to read? Looks like an sqlite database file or something similar to me. most parts of it is binary and can't be read/interpreted in notepad or any text processor.

That's what is happenning, its never happened before so there must be a reason why as you say its trying to open SQL Binary files and thats never happenned before and thats where the "why issue" comes into it. At this point I cannot even remember what Log reports they are. I will close this thread now and continue to consider whats going on the MS passwords Fiasco everything in Windows 11 has not been good, Thank you all for your help Regards Dasha Regards Dasha

Has the OP tested to see if it happens with the old classic Notepad or another text editor?
I have read about issues with the new Notepad.
