Odd boot up

It is no problem and I am just asking out of curiosity. Just lately my main laptop which was originally bought with Windows 10 Pro on it has been booting in the morning with a screen that asks if I want to use Windows 10 or a Macrium backup whereas it used to boot straight to the PIN screen. As I say I am just curious because I actually upgraded the machine to Windows 11 Pro when it was offered as an upgrade I then (I thought) deleted the Windows.old files. So why has the machine suddenly taken to booting to the said screen if those .old files have been deleted?

Disable it.

Uninstalling Macrium does not remove the boot screen

Yep I found that out and it still boots with that option even after removing all the registry entries for it. I did think maybe it was referencing the other D: drive in the machine but disabling that drive as a boot source in the BIOS has no effect which makes me think that Macrium has entrenched itself somehow into the boot sequence - something I find rather disturbing seeing that it is only a software for backing up etc etc.

I'm not sure how to remove that if Macrium has been uninstalled.

Maybe you could re-install it, use it to remove the feature, then get rid of Macrium after.

The point to the feature was to provide a means of doing a restore from an image without booting from a recue USB drive. Nothing sinister. (But unwanted by me.)

Ok Fabler and Bob removing that from the msconfig boot seems to have worked I had not thought of looking in there. So tomorrow morning when I boot up I shall see because it seems to always happen on an overnight shut down. :-)
