Still would like to know what the deal is with VBA not installing with office 365 (Desktop of course).

VBA is in my install of the Office 365 apps. It has always been there on many installs and updates to the Office 365 apps over many years.
I'm using the latest version in the Beta Channel.

It can be accessed by:
1. Hitting the Alt+F11 keys brings up the VBA Editor from inside one of the Office 365 apps such as Excel.
2. Going into the Options of the apps (Excel, Word etc.) and enabling the Developer Ribbon.

You are obviously also a Microsoft 365 subscriber. That is because only Microsoft 365 subscribers are allowed to participate in the Office Insider Program Beta Channel.

Like most people here we are not and only buy perpetual versions. We only get Current Channel updates. There is no other option for us.

installed this beta & still the same error

This issue only returns after a reboot so asking
Have you tried checking this after a reboot before posting it here?

Thanks for the suggestion to switch channel. Have not opted for the insider channels. Yet.
I have had and been using Office 365 64 bit since August 2018 with no issues.

The update error popped up only recently. I researched my network connections and such for a few days. Then tried repairing and eventually reinstalling my business office 365 subscription software. The first attempt to reinstall failed with a message of conflict with my previously installed 32bit Visio Pro 2010. I uninstalled Visio and then 64 bit 365 installed successfully. The update error was still there and there were No traces of VBA left on my PC I expect it was deleted when Visio was uninstalled. Not sure. But regardless, VBA was not reinstalled with the current 365 subscription. I did the reinstall twice. So, I restored a recent macrium image and decided to wait and see what you folks have conjured up.

Yesterday I reviewed the 365 subscription options and decided to ditch the business subscription I no longer needed and go with the 365 family plan. After complete uninstallation of office and 365 subscription data, the 365 family plan software installed successfully and VBA was also reinstalled. However, the update error still exists. Guess I will wait again for awhile.

If people save the contents of this reg key before reinstalling Office you wont have to reconfigure outlook profiles and email addresses etc.

I also have Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2021. I have no option to join the Microsoft 365 Insider Program! BTW, I have been a member of the Windows Insider Program 9 years.

In Options, I just pinned the Insider Command to Quick Launch, then clicked on it to enroll...

On the website they need to say either have a Microsoft 365 subscription or be clever enough to add the option to the Quick Access Toolbar. Thanks for the tip.

I see by selecting that you have the option of either selecting the default Current Channel (Preview) or the Beta Channel. After selecting Beta Channel I received a new update.

Im beginning losing my faith in MS-Office ...............still not fixed !
Only one "error-update " this month , if not fixed in August , I will not update anymore !
Costed us lots of time ( and stress!) , August or never............!!!

If you do a search you will find that some people have been having Office update problems for probably over 10 years. Office is working OK otherwise isn't it? If so then you will find it a lot less stressful to just use Office and not worry about the update error.

BTW, over the years I have had a lot more Windows update errors. Sometimes I would even find a fix for those. If not I just forgot about them because it was just not worth worrying about.

The OP fixed the problem he had. He said what he did in Post #5. Did you try what he did?

The issue is not fixed & many other users facing /faced this same in the last 1.5 months

He wrote 'I think'... what is missed is this
-after reinstalling the office immediately if you check for the update, it won't show the error. it shows up to date
but after a reboot, it will start throwing this error.

Tried also !
My experience ( so far ) ; only possible to update on version
June 11, 2024 Version 2405 (Build 17628.20144) without errors .
All later versions will update only with the cmd-option..............
( and ; you can return to previous versions also , with the cmd-option !)

Very dissapointed in Office 2021 , when (??) will MS fix it ???

I managed to find a way to fix this 30088-27 error for my office 365 that has been plaguing me since June, it might just work for office 2021 as well. I had tried everything else I could think of.

1, Download the Microsoft offscrub utility from:

Uninstall Office automatically - Microsoft Support

How to uninstall Office automatically

support.microsoft.com

2. Install it and run "Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant"
3. Select the app you are having problems with "Office & Office Apps", then Next
4. Select "I have office installed, but I am having trouble uninstalling it"
5. Follow the steps to uninstall it. The will do a complete scrub of office. apparently more than the regular uninstall.
6. After that use the tool to install the latest version using the "having trouble installing it option" and following it through
