And to inform you (and all others), regarding this error
I've been using the dev build where this issue was fixed earlier two weeks ago, which I mentioned here

After reading your (& others) comment(s) here during this week that the issue is fixed in the retail channel,
I uninstalled the dev build & reinstalled the latest retail channel Office 2024 (2407 16.0.17830.20138) Pro Plus x64 on the same day (i.e. Tuesday 20th Aug 2024) & it's been 2/3 days since then & haven't encountered that (or any other) issue.

So it seems MSFT finally fixed this prolonged issue, at least for now.

Based upon a web search I think that Microsoft has been having Office update errors for at least 10 years. The current error may be fixed but Microsoft will eventually just break it again. They're good at that. :rolleyes:

Seems like this is still not fixed. Wife's PC on Office 2021 Pro was getting the 30088-27 regularly but then it went away. Now what's happening is that it's always saying "you're up to date" when it isn't. Still on 17926.20156 today but when I forced the update voa online repair, it updated to 18025.20096. Will keep watching to say if it's fixed next month.

Your copy of Office has the latest Current Channel build. Version 2409 (Build 18025.20096).

If you want a higher number build you are going to have to sign up and get Beta Channel builds. Of course these are cutting edge experimental builds so you are accepting some risk in getting them.

That was not the issue. It is on the latest build now because I forced it to that via an online repair. Before it was on the earlier release but Office update said you're up to date.

I don't think you understand. Just because an update has been released doesn't mean everyone will get it immediately. In order to not overload its servers Microsoft releases its updates gradually. It might take several weeks or longer for everyone to get the update.

When it said you were "up to date" that probably meant it wasn't your turn to get the update. You probably got the update immediately because you forced it by selecting the online repair. If you had waited a few weeks it would have eventually got to you.

It appears you are now seeing the normal Office update process and are worrying about a problem that doesn't exist.

Actually a similar thing happened to me. Instead of waiting for my update to roll out to me I selected Update Now which forced the update immediately. Since I am getting Beta updates this is probably more forceful than I was getting regular updates.

Sorry but you're talking nonsense. The update here is the monthly patch update for the current channel, not a new release or version. This is always available immediately to all users just like the Windows 11 patch Tuesday updates. Given the problems many peiple have had with the update failing (read back through the thread) I'm concerned that the automatic update this patch Tuesday still does not work. I will wasit and see if others still have the same problemn.
